A 63 year old male, a retired journalist, had chief complaints of back pain since last 4-5 years. Pain was aggravated by standing or walking, and would decrease with rest. He had developed a stooped posture due to curvature of the spine. He was diagnosed with Osteoporosis and was taking some pain killers and calcium supplements without much relief. Other complaints he experienced were excessive heat in the body especially in the soles and palms. He had a normal appetite with likings for sweets. Mentally, he was very intelligent, loved to gather information and always strived to learn new things. He was upset about his back pain as it was restricting him of many activities. Based on a careful analysis, he was prescribed Sulphur for 3 weeks. Within 3 weeks, there was about 20-30 percent decrease in the pain, and the burning of palms and soles had totally stopped. After 6 months, he had improved a lot and was confident to move about and go about his activities. After 9 months, the pain had reduced to such an extent he felt wonderful as regards to his health.
