Diagnosis: Right Ovarian Cyst

24 year old lady, Mrs. N.B., came with complaints of profuse menstrual bleeding with lot of clots. She also had pain in the right iliac region. An ultrasonography of the abdomen done recently had showed a right ovarian cyst sized 4.05 cm x 4.48 cm. As per the report, the uterus was anteverted and had 12 mm thick endometrium. The patient was trying to conceive since 4 years but could not do so, (the ovarian cyst being the most likely cause). This was causing lot of anxiety in her.

During the case taking, she said that she was very scared of her mother-in-law. Her mother-in-law had a very bad temper and the patient was very sensitive by nature. She would carry this fear inside her all the time and would not be able to express it. During her marriage, she mentioned, that there had been some misunderstanding between her family and her in-laws due to some ornaments. She wanted to remove this misunderstanding but she did not know how to go about it and hence was tensed.

The patient was sensitive, wept easily, and would be worsened by consolation. She felt very lonely and homesick after her marriage. She had lot of negative thoughts. She desired to be in the company of people but usually would not find company and would end up feeling lonely. She would get afraid very easily. She would also brood a lot and would get angry and impatient over petty things. She had lot of anxiety with palpitations.

She had decreased thirst along with dryness of mouth.

P/H: Measles in the past.

Based on the above history, she was prescribed Aurum-mur-natronatum 6 for her complaints. Her ultrasonography was periodically repeated to confirm the regression in the size of her Right ovarian cyst. Within 6 months of Homeopathic treatment, her cyst had completely regressed. Her menstrual cycles were also normal by now and she had no complaints pertaining to the same. During this span of time, her mental complaints had also improved; her brooding was much lesser than before. She conceived soon after this and delivered a healthy daughter; her daughter is now 4 years old.
