7 year old child had complaints of Stye on lower lid of the left eye with severe pain and redness around eye. Eye lid was swollen. He had been given some antibiotic eye drops which however did not help.

The stye was very sensitive to touch. Child was crying with pain. He was also getting very irritable and violent.

He was prescribed Belladonna due to severe inflammation and was to be observed for a day. The medicine acted within few hours and the inflammation had begun to subside drastically. The stye was reducing in size by the end of the day. Within 5 days the stye had healed completely and there were no signs of any inflammation on the lids.
