A 12 year old girl had complaints of recurrent styes, which would alternately come and go on both the eyes. She had been given many antibiotics and eye drops, but they would help her only partially and the tendency to recurrence was not treated.
Currently she had two pustules over her left eyelid with intense inflammation and redness. There was continuous watering of eyes. Often there was yellowish discharge settled at the corner of the eyes. She also had cold and runny nose along with these complaints.
She was a mild and gentle girl and very emotional according to the parents. She would weep very easily and feared of being left alone.
Based on the history, she was prescribed Pulsatilla for her tendency to recurrences. Her styes had completely healed within 2-3 days and she was asked to continue homeopathy for few months to check for recurrences. Following homeopathy, there was only one episode of stye after 2 months, but it was of a very mild intensity. She was continued medicines for 6 months and there were no recurrences.
