A 17 years old male comes for consultation with the following complaints:
- Hypo-pigmented spot over his right eye brows and above his right eyelid since 4 years ;
- It started after an attack of chicken pox, during which he had a persistent low grade fever, for which penicillin injections were given.
- Dry Cough since 3-4 days. Every change of weather lead to such respiratory complaints.
He relishes having chicken gravy and is averse to salty foods.
When he was to be born, his mother underwent a lot of mental stress owing to discords with mother in law. She desired a male child then, and was tensed with the thought of consequences if she had a second girl child. This teenage boy gets angry easily, and on one occasion he left the house in anger.
At birth he had swelling on left eyebrow which was operated upon at 10 years of age.
His maternal aunt has history of having white spots and has hemiplegia at present. His grandfather died of coronary artery disease.
The important events of his life were considered to prescribe for him. He was prescribed Variolinum which was followed by increasing potencies upto LM 12. In the course of six months of treatment there was no further spread and the hypo-pigmented spots showed some pigmentation. Within 12 months of continued treatment with increasing scales of potency of the same medicine, the spots showed marked pigmentation along with a reduction in his recurrent complaint of cough and a feeling of well being in general.
This case shows how homoeopathy tackles the deranged immunity which caused vitiligo for this teenager to get back his normal color of the skin.
