Diagnosis and Tests

Learning disability isn’t always easy to diagnose. It is a difficult condition and can be diagnosed and differentiated from similar conditions by experts. Don’t assume your child’s problem is just behavioral, it is important to have your child tested and evaluated by a qualified professional.

It involves testing, history taking, and observation by a trained specialist. Careful and honest observation is a key to understand development of skills. Tests are conducted in important areas such as expressive and receptive language, fine and gross motor coordination, attention and socialization. Also vision and hearing of the child is checked.

Specific tests like EEG, MRI etc may be required in few cases to distinguish from other conditions
