65 year old male, Mr. S. had come with a chief complaint of pain in all the joints of the body, especially the joints of hands and toes since 6 months. He particularly had unbearable pain on his right great toe which had swollen and was very painful to touch. The pain was so intense that it made the patient scream on slightest touch.

Joint pains would aggravate on moving about and the parts were very sensitive. His blood levels showed high uric acid levels and was diagnosed with gout. He also had acidity along with joint pains. He experienced burning in the abdomen and stomach as well.

On the basis of the given totality, he was prescribed Colchicum. With homeopathic treatment, his pain had reduced to about 50% and he could move around without much pain. Medicines were continued for almost 6 months, after which he did not experience any swelling or pain in joints. His gastric troubles got better too. After 6 months of treatment, uric acid levels were back to normal.
