Mr. M. S., a 52 year-old gentleman, presented with Supra-orbital Neuralgia (pain in forehead above the eyebrow).

The pain was only on the left side following Herpes Zoster infection in that region. The pain would appear and disappear on and off. The pain was very severe. The severity was so much that patient would say 'please chop off' the affected area.

The patient was given painkillers, anti-epileptic medicines, etc. with only partial relief of the pain.

During history taking, he said that the pain would get better only by pressing on the affected area. No other activity would give him any relief.

Also, he had no pain when he was sleeping or resting with closed eyes.

After detailed study and analysis of the case, the patient was prescribed the homeopathic remedy Bryonia

The pain gradually subsided. He would require 3 to 4 tablets of conventional medicine daily during the pain. In 3 months, it came down to 1 tablet a day. At the end of the 4th month, he did not need any conventional painkiller and was only on Homeopathic Medicine.

Later, the potency of the homeopathic medicine was increased. Finally, 4 doses of higher potency were given, which relieved the patient completely.

It has now been 12 years since then, and he has had no recurrence, no pain, and no complications.
