- Touching the lesions: Avoid touching and scratching the eruptions, as infection can spread easily to adjacent healthy parts of the skin.
- Washing hands: Keep your hands clean and wash them regularly in case the lesions are touched to prevent spread of the infection.
- Sharing items: Avoid sharing items belonging to an infected person including soaps, towels, clothes and any sports gear that the infected person comes in direct contact with.
- Foot Care: Feet should be kept clean and dry. Socks should be worn of a material that is designed to remove moisture. They must also be washed regularly. Wearing tight shoes/sandals should be avoided and footwear must be worn whenever common rooms are visited.
