• Gentle cleansing shampoos are usually recommended by conventional physicians to treat Dandruff.
• In resistant or severe cases, antifungal shampoos with ingredients like ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, selenium sulphide, coal tar, salicylic acid, etc. are used. None of these treatments, however, can guarantee non-recurrence of Dandruff.
• If there is extreme fungal infection, then antifungal medicines are indicated.
• For superseded bacterial infections, antibacterial medicines are prescribed.
