This is the case of a 16 year-old lean, thin girl who consulted us with complaints of frequent colds and throat infections since childhood.
She would get these complaints once in every 2-3 months and every attack would last for about 5 days.
The attacks would begin with irritation in the throat followed by pain in the throat. The pain would radiate to the ears on swallowing and would also develop frequent cold on and off.
She had already visited various doctors who prescribed different kinds of antibiotics that gave her partial relief. A few even suggested that she should undergo tonsillectomy for permanent cure.
After studying the case, we prescribed the acute medicine Phytolacca 30. Within 3 days, the pain and irritation reduced, and she could resume her daily activities.
However, to prevent the attacks from occurring again, we recommended a complete work-up about the life history of the patient and prescribed the constitutional remedy to the teenager.
