  • It is a form of acute onset non scarring alopecia with marked hair fall all over scalp.
  • Caused by hormonal stress and certain medications, it usually recovers spontaneously within 6 months.
Tinea Capitis
  • This is fungal infection of the skin that effects eye brows, scalp and eyelashes.
  • It affects the hair follicles and the hair shafts.
Syphilis
  • Syphilis is an infectious disease caused by Treponema pallidum.
  • In children it is congenital and in adults it is said to be sexually transmitted.
  • It expresses as a painless lesion called chancre along with fever, malaise, pharyngitis, rash and loss of appetite.

  • It is the disorder in which one pulls his own hair persistently and excessively resulting in visible hair loss.
  • The scalp is the most commonly pulled area, followed by the eyelashes and eyebrows too.

  • This is the loss of all the hair on the head.
  • It is believed to be an autoimmune phenomenon just like Alopecia Areata and stress has been known to play a contributory role.
