- Cholecystitis- When gallstones get impacted in the cystic duct, the pressure within gallbladder increases and produces inflammation causing cholecystitis.
- Pancreatitis- A gallstones can cause blockage of the pancreatic duct (tube from pancreas to common bile duct) which can lead to inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
- Cancer of the Gallbladder- It is estimated that people with a history of gallstones have an increased risk of cancer of gallbladder.
