Sjogren's Syndrome
  • It is an immune-mediated disease consisting of arthritis along with decrease in production of tears and saliva because of affection of mucous membranes and moisture-secreting glands of eyes and mouth.
  • It is characterized by dryness of eyes and mouth and blood tests reveal presence of specific antibodies.
Felty Syndrome
  • This syndrome consists of triad of rheumatoid arthritis, leucopenia, and splenomegaly.
  • It usually occurs in patients with severe arthritis and is accompanied by a positive Rheumatoid Factor.
Fibromyalgia
  • Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by chronic general pain, joint stiffness, fatigue and sleep disturbances.
  • The underlying cause is usually stress, other psychological factors and lack of sleep.
Infectious Arthritis
  • Infectious Arthritis, as the name suggests, is infection within a joint. The causative organism is usually a bacterium, but few cases have been reported where virus and even fungi have been implicated.
  • Symptoms include pain, joint swelling, redness and warmth of the joint.
