The following factors put you at risk for diabetes:

- Being obese or over-weight
- Age above 40
- Less physical activity
- High cholesterol level
- High blood pressure
- Family history of Diabetes or high blood pressure
- Having poor eating habits
- Gestational diabetes: If you had diabetes when you were pregnant, your risk of developing diabetes increases.
