The following factors put you at risk for diabetes:

  • Being obese or over-weight
  • Age above 40
  • Less physical activity
  • High cholesterol level
  • High blood pressure
  • Family history of Diabetes or high blood pressure
  • Having poor eating habits
  • Gestational diabetes: If you had diabetes when you were pregnant, your risk of developing diabetes increases.
  • PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome): Women with PCOS hare more likely to develop diabetes as the disease affect the secretion of insulin.
