Dizziness associated with Postural Hypotension
  • Postural hypotension is a form of low blood pressure that occurs after standing up from a lying or a sitting position.
  • Symptoms include dizziness or light-headedness, fainting, blurred vision and confusion.
Disequilibrium
  • Disequilibrium is loss of balance or bodily adjustment, particularly mental balance.
  • This occurs when the brain receives inadequate information about the body's position.
  • It may happen due to certain eye diseases, peripheral neuropathy etc. It may not be associated with nausea and vomiting.
Presyncope
  • This may occur due to certain cardiovascular diseases and anaemia.
  • The symptoms are feeling of fainting, light headedness, blurred vision and muscular weakness.
  • Light-headedness is a very nonspecific symptom and it may also result from panic attacks with hyperventilation.
