- Poor self-confidence: Presence of Warts, especially large and unsightly ones on the face, neck or other exposed areas of the body may affect one's confidence and self-esteem.
- Pain and irritation: These features may develop in the region around the warts
- Malignant changes: Although very rare in healthy individuals, there is a slightly increased risk in people with impaired immune systems.
- Cervical Cancer: Some strains of HPV are the main cause of cervical cancer (mouth of the uterus). They can also cause some pre-cancerous changes to the cells of the cervix (dysplasia).
- Other Cancers: Some types of HPV may cause cancer of the vulva (external female genitals), penis, or anus.
