- Stricture: Narrowing or tightening of the esophagus leading to obstruction.
- Scleroderma: This is a connective tissue disorder of autoimmune origin with systemic involvement.
- Globus Hystericus: This is a subjective sensation of a lump like object inside the throat extending to stomach. This is commonly observed in hysterical and hypochondriac patients, hence the name.
- Dyspepsia: Difficulty in digestion or a discomfort in stomach.
- Esophageal Perforation: A small hole or aperture in the wall of the esophagus.
- Aperistalsis: Absence of peristaltic movements- symmetric contraction and relaxation in the esophagus.
