There are various factors that increase the chances of acquiring Common Cold such as-
- Age: Infants and young children are more likely to develop Common Cold because of decreased resistance to most viruses. Further, they are not careful about washing their hands and covering their mouth and nose when they cough and sneeze.
- Seasonal variation: Frequent infections are commonly seen during autumn and winter.
- Weakened immune system: Individuals with a poorly functioning immune system like those who are suffering from AIDS are more susceptible to develop common cold.
