Fibromyalgia can happen to anyone. However, certain people have been seen to be more prone to develop the condition.
Fibromyalgia risk factors include:
- GENDER: Women are more likely to develop Fibromyalgia than men.
- FAMILY HISTORY: Having a family history of fibromyalgia certainly increases the risk acquiring the disease.
- AUTO-IMMUNE DISEASES: Diseases like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis, having an autoimmune basis, increase the risk of developing Fibromyalgia.
