  • Diagnosis of Ganglion is done through physical examination of lump. Its location, appearance, size, consistency is examined. Ganglion if big is easily visible to eyes. Pressure on the ganglion may elicit tenderness.
  • Mostly they are trans illuminant (light may get easily pass through them)
  • Tests like X Ray may be required to rule out other serious joint problem.
  • Ultrasonography is conducted to ascertain size and content of the cyst.
  • MRI can be used if tumor is suspected or to differentiate from other similar conditions.
