If Kidney stones are left untreated, they can lead to the following complications:
- Reccurrence of Kidney stones is the most common complication. There are almost 20% chances of recurrence within 5 years.
- Infection with Obstructive Uropathy secondary to obstruction which can be caused during passage of Kidney stones through the ureter.
- Post surgical processes for treating Kidney stones: There is possibility of injury to the kidneys along with multitude of complications like excessive bleeding, severe infection with sepsis which is accompanied by excessive pain.
