• Rectal Bleeding or fissures- Cut or tear around the anus is called anal fissures. This occurs due to hard stools and excessive straining. It can result in rectal bleeding.
• Piles- These are swollen blood vessels around the anus and rectum and are commonly caused by excessive straining during constipation.

  Colonic Perforation- It is perforation of bowel due to pressure from excessive hard and big stools in severe Chronic Constipation. It may result in life threatening condition of sepsis and subsequently death.
• Psychological Distress- Severe constipation is frustrating, distressing and leads to severe psychological distress
