Do’s
- Being a parent you are bound to get anxious, but you must stay calm and focus on how you will help your baby.
- Do not overfeed or force feed.
- Always burp your baby after every breastfeed. Swallowing air during feeds is known to cause colic in infants.
- Examine for other probable causes such as wet diaper, skin rash, any injury.
- Slowly rock the baby as it is found to be soothing and calming
- Keep checking your baby's urine and stool pattern. If symptoms continue to worsen, seek medical help at once.
Don’ts
- Do not let the situation put you under pressure or frustration.
- Do not use any faulty practices like too much massaging or rubbing as it can aggravate the situation.
- Avoid force feeding your child to stop the hunger. This can result in aspiration.
- Do not change the diet of you and your baby without doctor's advice.
