Panic Attacks Definition

Panic attacks are defined as episodes or sudden surges of overwhelming anxiety, intense fear and apprehensions. There is acute sense of terror without any obvious threat. Episodes may last for few seconds to 10 minutes. The attacks usually begin abruptly, may reach a peak within 10 to 20 minutes, but may continue for hours in some cases.
