Definition of Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin disease characterized by depigmentation of skin and mucous membranes. Here the melanin cells which are responsible for skin color die.

It is characterized by:

  • Loss of skin color either in patches or entirely
  • White patches on the body
  • Loss of color even inside mouth or nose
  • Loss or change in color inside eyeball and even in retina

Vitiligo commonly starts before the age of 20 years in 50% of the cases. Although not a health hazard, it may cause severe impact on the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the affected person.

In many places it is yet considered a very bad disease, a taboo that it is due to bad deeds or curses. Ignorant people refrain from touching, sharing, eating even sometimes talking with such people. But Vitiligo is NOT CONTAGIOUS. It does not spread from one person to another.

With such a bleak outlook towards people affected with Vitiligo, Homeopathy comes like a breath of fresh air. The strength of Homeopathy is such that the medicines given can eradicate the disease from its roots. All homeopathic medicines have been proved on healthy human beings, and their beneficial effects have stood the test of time. Moreover, none of the medicines cause any unwanted side effects.
