  • Disruption of routine: Some ulcers may be too painful to cause severe pain while eating..
  • Scar- Most ulcers heal in 2 weeks, but some may persist longer to leave scar behind.
  • Secondary Infection: Mouth is the area which has high concentration of bacteria. Poor dental hygiene can lead to secondary infections of mouth ulcers and may delay healing.
  • Cellulitis of Mouth: The inflammation of skin of mouth may be result of severe mouth ulcer.
  • Tooth abscess: Secondary infection of ulcer may spread to surrounding tooth or gums leading to their infection.
