Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is a childhood psychological disorder; classified under Disruptive Behaviour Disorder, where affected child has pattern of behavioural issues like anger,irritability, disobedience, vindictiveness, argumentative. This behaviour must persist for at least six months and should be significant enough to disrupt routine life and academic performances to be classified as ODD. Also, when compared with kids of his age, affected child's behaviour should be more intense and persistent to be clinically termed as ODD.

Usually, ODD starts as early as at the age of 8 years. Usually, ODD is more common in boys.

Usually person with ODD, does not accept that there is behavioural problem with him, instead believe that others are mean and over demanding towards him. A series of biological, psychological, personal and social causes may contribute in development of ODD in child.

Verbal aggression is usually common in ODD, but physical aggression or violence, property destruction, law breaking, recklessness are not part of ODD.
