Preventions

Total prevention of Postpartum Depression is not possible. Though following measures may be helpful. They also prevent recurrence in already existing cases of depression.

  • Get proper rest. Do not shy away getting help from other family members.
  • Give time for yourself.
  • Do not overload yourself with work. Always ask for help.
  • Get balanced diet.
  • Routine exercise, yoga, meditation and stress management classes also help in reducing anxiety and thereby decreases severity of POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION.
  • Avoiding smoking and alcohol.
  • Get enough sleep.
